Terrain…Purchases?

Say it ain’t so, but every once in a while there is good reason to buy terrain, and it usually comes down to one thing for me….I can be lazy.  On the flip side of things, I can also be sold on a good bargain or caught up in a moment of opportunity.  These items where all purchased at Gen Con and were all an opportunity to not pay shipping costs on small items, something I don’t ever care to do.

Pegasus Hobbies has plenty of plastic terrain models that you can purchase but something as simple as a bridge can be had for a relatively inexpensive price, so I picked one of them up to give it a try.

Another Pegasus games item, pre-painted oil drums

For quite some time, things like Crates, Barrels, Oil Drums, Ammo boxes have been something we want to have and use but haven’t found a sound way to do it.  So for now, these fit the bill and will blend in nicely with our existing sci-fi terrain.

Barrels from an unknown origin....in some random bits box at Gen Con

The last item is a set of barrels, about the equivalent to thigh high barrels in 28mm scale where had for a mere $1.50 out of some random booth at Gen Con.  I wasn’t looking for these per se, but I happened upon them and couldn’t resist.

All in all it’s hard sometimes when you’ve become so accustom to building your own terrain to purchase terrain items, but I look at it as a challenge of making them fit and integrate with your custom terrain.  If that can be achieved, it’s nothing but a win for all parties involved.
